Our history

Francesc Assens: entrepreneur and adventurer, lover of reading and nature and an engineer without a degree, he had worked for several years in the field of photography. At 50 years old, married with 6 children, he is forced to leave the camera business and start a new adventure from scratch.

With the help of his brother Josep he sets up a company that has nothing to do with photography. Attracted by the North American culture and its economic progress, he began a new journey marketing risk prevention products. He soon realized that, in our country, this need was still not contemplated and he decided to change his activity.

Also influenced by E.E.U.U. Create a small first aid kit workshop and set up a laboratory to manufacture disinfectant and skin protection products. The brand name for these products is GUARDIAN®. It is the year 1970, Asens S.L. under the idea of serving and protecting people in small emergency situations.

In the beginning, Francesc himself designed the advertising in small brochures and sent them by regular mail to pharmacies, hardware stores, automotive companies, town halls, the Red Cross and mutuals. In the 10 years since its founding, Asens has become one of the main providers of mutual insurance companies and pharmacies in the country.

The years go by, the socioeconomic context of the country changes and Francesc and his team decide to open the market. Asens, with its own workshop, begins to manufacture other products to complete the first aid line. The manufacture of stretchers for the transfer of all kinds of wounded begins, immobilization splints, rescue bags and backpacks... Thanks to the quality of its products and its good work, Asens enters as a supplier to the army, firefighters, ambulance companies, among many other organizations in the health emergency and rescue sector.

With globalization and the arrival of manufacturing of Asian origin, new challenges appeared that Asens faced under the tutelage of its founder, adapting the brand, customizing products and designing new models according to the specific needs of the national market.

Francesc continued with the company until he was 92 years old. His inventiveness allowed the adaptation of the brand through changing times and his figure continues to inspire the Asens team to continue working under criteria of excellence in the manufacture and distribution of materials and in customer service.

More than 50 years after our foundation, at Asens S.L. we follow the founding ideas of Francesc. We want to serve and protect people, but now we want to do it in the face of any type of health emergency. We want to achieve this by equipping professional medical emergency and rescue services, as well as the industrial sector, in the best possible way, with quality products designed and designed exclusively for specific functions and with materials that guarantee durability to their equipment.</p >
